Diocese of Richmond Work Camp

This year should be another great opportunity for the youth of our diocese to encounter Christ as they serve the poor in Southwest Virginia.  This year we would love to have college students serve as volunteers at Home Base.  Home Base volunteers help in a number of ways, and it’s always a joy to have the energy and excitement of college students.  If you could please pass the word along to your students it would be incredibly helpful.  Below is some basic information about the role.  If they have questions or are interested they can email evangelization@richmonddiocese.org.

What are the requirements for adult home base volunteers?

These individuals will need to serve in various roles at home base such as Work Camp set-up and clean-up, kitchen assistance, running team building activities, performing office related tasks, running errands, etc. Home base volunteers must be at least 20 years old before the beginning of Work Camp.

Home base volunteers are needed to serve from Friday afternoon, June 22 to Friday, June 29, 2018. They will need to arrive by 2 pm on June 22, 2018. They are welcome to come on June 21 to join the Diocesan Staff that will be present. Carpooling may be available for volunteers coming from the same area. While it is preferable that volunteers are present the whole week, we are willing to discuss partial weeks if there is a volunteer who needs that.
